U.S.
Hispanic Market
Among
all ethnic groups, the U.S. Hispanic market represents the largest
ethnic segment in the country and ranks among the fastest growing
populations.
Currently,
Hispanics comprise 13.7 percent of the total
U.S. population—representing 39.9 million people.
The total spending power of U.S. Hispanics
in 2005 was $736 billion.
Nearly 70 percent of Hispanics in the U.S. have
Mexican ancestry, the remainder trace their lineage to Central
America, South America, and the Caribbean.
Immigration has fueled most of the growth in
the market, but the native-born second generation will increasingly
stimulate a greater proportion of the future growth in the U.S.
